The EOS-1D X Mark III is also our most powerful DSLR for video to date, equipped with 4K 60p video capability, plus the option to shoot 5. 5K RAW video or 10-bit video with Canon Log, both recorded internally to CFexpress cards. A big, double-grip DSLR, the 1D X Mark III sits at the top of Canon's lineup as its fastest, toughest and in many ways, most advanced camera yet. You'd be forgiven at first glance for mistaking it for the previous Mark II (or a much older 1D camera), but small refinements on the outside bely some big advances within.

The Canon 1Dx series of cameras, like the 1D models before, are designed for speed and the 1Dx Mark III is a little faster than its predecessor. The 1Dx Mark III can capture up to 16 frames per second when shooting with the viewfinder. That’s up slightly from the 14 frames per second that the 1Dx Mark II could capture. When using the optical viewfinder for lag-free shooting, enabling fast action to be captured in real time, the 1D X Mark III can shoot at a fierce 16 frames per second (using its mechanical shutter), finding focus with a 400,000-pixel metering sensor in VwEJCY.
