The 990s have a fun V shaped sound, not as neutral, but it makes for a pretty exciting listening experience, and their soundstage is the best of the 770/880/990 trio. My personal preference is the DT990. As for ohms.

Peaks can be an instant turn off in the treble range. Check their frequency response instead of trusting people. 990s have 2 major and one other possibly painful peak in the treble and it may really become hell for almost every single genre.
