Lathrop is in Illinois and is the sole distributor of Hanwag in the U.S. Lowa has many distributors including many mail order companies. Hanwag has a thicker tongue and better build quality but have a larger volume last/boot than the Tibet.I prefer the lacing islets better also.

Got my Scarpas in this week and agree with Ronb's description that the Tibet is wider in the toes, I'll likely end up going with the lowas as my foot is just a tad wide and the Scarpas seem a little snug. For $100 cheaper though I wish the Scarpas would work for me. Feb 12, 2017. Banned.

I own the Hanwag mountain lites and i really have nothing bad to say about them. Purchased from lathrop's with the synergy foot beds. I will admit that these were my real first step into this type of boot for hunting. In the past it was always Irish setters, danner, and the like. I was between the mountain lites and lowa tibets.
